Olgierd Jeż is a PhD candidate whose research focuses on the economic and socio-spatial determinants of the housing gap in Poland and the evaluation of housing policy. During his 30-day research internship at Vytautas Magnus University, he carried out research and analytical work, participated in methodological consultations, and actively engaged in academic activities at the host institution. He attended seminars and meetings that fostered the exchange of experiences and the development of scientific networks. The internship enhanced his international perspective, strengthened his research skills, and provided valuable insights to support his ongoing research, while also contributing to the internationalization of UEW’s academic collaborations.

Kamila Łuczak, PhD student and Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Business Intelligence in Management, completed a 30-day research internship at the University of Salerno, in the Human-Computer Interaction and Usability Engineering (HCI-UsE) Lab. The research internship focused on human-computer interaction design, with particular emphasis on the potential application of cognitive neuroscience techniques and methods. As part of the internship, a joint research plan was developed, an analysis of similarities and differences in the teaching of interaction design was conducted, and recommendations were formulated regarding infrastructure development in the field of cognitive neuroscience, which are relevant to the home institution in the context of further development in this area.

Ewa Biazik, PhD, is an Adiunct in the Department of Agroengineering and Quality Analysis, Wrocław University of Economics and Business. Her research lines include oxidation processes in meat/meat products, the use of natural antioxidants (such as carnosine) in the inhibition of food oxidative spoilage, food quality and safety, and consumer purchasing preferences. During a 30-day research internship at the University of Natural Resources and Life Science (BOKU) in Vienna, she developed analytical techniques concerning lipid oxidation product determination, i.a. SPME HS GCMS. Moreover, she actively participated in academic activities at the host institution, focusing on building new scientific skills via the use of AI tools. This internship had significant added value and helped with the improvement of the teaching program at her home institution by adopting good practices observed at the prestigious academic institution, which is characterized by a high degree of internationalization.
