On March 6, 2024, the second edition of the international scientific conference “Polish-Czech-Slovak Day 2: Green Universities for Society and Economy” was held at the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business. Below is a summary of the event.
The conference was opened by the Rector of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Prof. Andrzej Kaleta, who presented the WUEB’s 2030 Strategy, and Vice-Rector for Accreditation and International Cooperation, Prof. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska, who emphasized the importance of WUEB’s collaboration with partners from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Science and was co-organized by the University of Finance and Administration in Prague.
Participants included Dagmar Urbanova, Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Slovak Republic, as well as university representatives and staff.
The event welcomed participants from ten universities in Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia:

- Masaryk University,
- Opole University of Technology,
- Prague University of Economics and Business,
- University of Finance and Administration,
- University of Economics in Bratislava,
- Cracow University of Economics,
- University of Gdańsk,
- University of Opole,
- University of Prešov.





The aim of the international conference was to showcase ongoing or planned research projects conducted by the Wroclaw University of Economics in collaboration with Czech and Slovak partners. Special attention was given to studies addressing sustainable development, shaping a new societal and economic model, and exploring the social, financial, and managerial aspects of these processes.
It was emphasized that both scientific research and student education should cater to the needs of the economic environment and promote awareness of a green economy. Discussions also touched upon challenges related to the development of artificial intelligence.
During the conference, researchers delivered ten presentations across two sessions chaired by Dr. Marek Kośny, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, and Dr. Piotr Rogala, Dean of the Jelenia Góra branch of UEW. Presenters included:

The presentations and discussions highlighted the need to deepen collaboration in academic, educational, and organizational spheres, as it yields tangible results and provides satisfaction to participants in international projects.
The academic coordinator of the conference was Dr. Magdalena Sobocińska, prof. UEW, and the event was organized by the International Cooperation Center, including Director Dr. Anna H. Jankowiak, Prof. UEW, Dr. Dariusz Garczyński, Dr. Maria Knecht-Tarczewska, Karolina Brożyna, and Klaudia Stawska.
In conclusion, Vice-Rector Prof. Bogusława Drelich-Skulska emphasized the need for organizing such scientific events regularly, especially as they align with the implementation of the 2030 Strategy and the Internationalization Development Plan of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business.
