The third edition of Climate Academy at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, organized on May 27th, 2026 brought together students, academics, and business representatives for a dynamic event focused on sustainability, climate responsibility, and practical environmental solutions.
The initiative created a space for interdisciplinary collaboration and meaningful discussions on how to transform climate anxiety into climate action.
The event opened with keynote presentations delivered by sustainability experts, who discussed how engaging and inspiring climate change communication can help reduce anxiety and encourage positive action. Michalina Kulakowska from the Centre for Systems Solutions explained, using real-life examples, that society needs simple yet engaging communication about climate change. In turn, Antonios Triantafyllakis, Co-founder of Gamification Global, demonstrated how games can transform climate-related emotions into meaningful action. Participants gained insight into real-life challenges connected with promoting environmental awareness and encouraging society to adopt more sustainable solutions and behaviours.
One of the most valuable aspects of the event was the workshop session, during which participants worked in teams on practical sustainability challenges. Through both computer and board games, students and lecturers collaborated on climate-related issues in an interactive and engaging way. The workshops encouraged creativity, critical thinking, and interdisciplinary cooperation, while also providing participants with practical tools and inspiration for future projects.
The cyclical Climate Academy, organized at WUEB from 2024, provides an opportunity to meet experts, discuss environmental challenges, and build connections with people who share a commitment to sustainable development. The event demonstrated that climate education can successfully connect academia, business, and social responsibility in a practical and inspiring way.
The organizers — the Rector’s Representative for the International School, dr Joanna Macalik, and Green Team members dr Karolina Daszyńska-Żygadło and dr Ewa Brzozowicz — emphasized that the academy was not only an educational event, but also a platform empowering young people and the academic community to actively participate in climate action without fear or anxiety.
We already invite you to participate in the upcoming editions of the event!
