How to Prevent Student Drop-Outs? A New Project at WUEB!

Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, thanks to external funding obtained from the European Social Development Funds, is launching a new project aimed at reducing the phenomenon of student drop-out.

The project “Integrated Risk Management Strategy for Student Drop-Out at Wroclaw University of Economics and Business” (acronym: DROP-OUT) will be carried out over 4 years, which will allow for the optimal use of funds and the implementation of changes in several areas related to support for students of the university.

As part of the project, a systemic, comprehensive, and structured mechanism to counteract drop-out will be introduced, including, among others, monitoring information enabling assessment of the phenomenon, data analysis, as well as planning remedial and preventive actions. Additionally, supporting activities will be carried out, such as:

  • advisory support,
  • ad hoc psychological support,
  • remedial classes,
  • purchase and development of IT tools,
  • implementation of individualized, student-centered services,
  • systematization of cooperation between organizational units involved in student support.

Substantive supervision over the activities will be provided by prof.  Bogusław Półtorak, Vice-Dean for Education.

The project is financed by the European Union under the European Social Development Funds Plus program, based on the funding agreement no. FERS.01.05-IP.08-0130/25-00.

Funding: total project value – PLN 4,994,576.20; co-financing from ESF+ – PLN 4,121,524.28.
