Programme Description
The Master of Research in Economics of the European University Institute (EUI) is a one-year programme. It is predominantly research-based and focusses on the acquisition and practice of research skills.
The programme is taught by eminent academics, including professors of the EUI, as well as world-renowned guest professors and experts. The programme is attended by an international body of researchers, selected with highly competitive admission criteria (you can find them here: https://www.eui.eu/apply?id=master-of-research-in-economics&subpage=informationForApplicants).
The studies are conducted on-site at Villa La Fonte in Italy.
Curriculum
The 1-year Master of Research in Economics will be composed of seven compulsory courses and four advanced courses. Each course will have 20 hours of formal teaching plus 8 hours of teaching assistantship. The year will be divided in four blocks.

Admission
The minimum requirement for admission is holding a bachelor’s degree, which must be completed before the start of the academic year (i.e., August 31). Due to the advanced level of the MRes program, a master’s degree is recommended. Proficiency in English at level C1 is required. The studies are tuition-free for Polish citizens.
The application deadline is April 30, 2024, and the program begins on September 1, 2024.
